Car Insurance Peugeot (Car Insurance). Car slowing down while DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY!!!!?!!?

Car slowing down while DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY!!!!?!!? ***I drive a 2005 CHEVY COBALT*** I was driving on the freeway about 60 mph, I had half tank of gas but out of nowhere my car started to slow down and I felt the wheel stiffing up, as in I could barely turn the wheel it was very stiff. I had to exit asap but my car was going very very SLOW. I kept pushing the gas pedal but it still didn't speed up. While all of this was happening, the gas needle went all the way down as if it had no gas!!! Then it finally stalled but it was still on, I turned the engine off and tried turning it on again, on the second try it totally turned on fine but the gas meter still read EMPTY. So I quickly drove to the first gas station and pumped about $10. I turned the car back on and now it had a little more than half a tank!!!!! I don't get it, what could be wrong with my car??? Is it just that the gas meter doesn't work or is it something else?

There are lots of things going on when an engine is running. The computer calculates how much air is flowing into the engine (Mass Airflow Sensor or MAS), it injects an expected amount of fuel into the cylinders. Depending on what the O2 sensor reads, the computer will make minor adjustments to the amount of fuel being delivered. This maintains optimum fuel economy AND proper levels of emissions. FILL THE TANK AND SEE HOW IT RUNS Keep your cell phone with you and just keep driving. But if you have 80,000 or more miles on your car and haven't ever gotten a new fuel filter, have one installed now. You should also install a new engine air filter if yours has more than 25,000 miles on it. When the engine starts stalling, you'll loose power steering because the power steering pump isn't turning around fast enough. So your engine was stalling, but who knows why? If you've run out of gas recently, you definitely need a new fuel filter no matter what your mileage. It could be the car over-heating and going into reduced power mode. My car does that but the whole fuel gauge doesn't make sense. Get it checked out b/c it will most likely occur again. you r confused,,the steering works when engine is running, when it stalls you loose steering,,its fin...Im gona assUme you havent done anything to it since 2006..plugs wires,,fuel filter,,but before all that,,if battery is bad or cable is dirty/loose you dont get 12.7 volts and everything goes haywire,,,,steering,,gas gauge [gage] meter....always start at the battery If your fuel meter worked completely before the failure, then you probably were losing power to your fuel pump & fuel level sender. low engine oil

Peugeot . How to Install Rear Brakes on a MazdaSpeed Protege

The Mazda Speed Protege is tuned for performance. While the engine modifications to the vehicle that separate it from a stock Protege are more numerous, the safety advancements are also noteworthy and equally vital. Among the safety upgrades are the all-wheel disc brakes. The rear brakes are crucial in maintaining driver control when braking. Having control will allow the driver to steer during braking which can be the difference between a close call and an expensive and dangerous collision. Replace the rear brakes at the first sign of damage or significant wear.
Difficulty:Moderate
Instructions Things You'll Need
Tire iron
Jack
Jack stands
12mm socket
15mm socket
Ratchet
Bungee cord
Chain lubricant
Dead-blow hammer (if necessary)
Wire brush
Rotors
Brake cleaner
Cloth towel
Brake pads
C-clamp or locking pliers

Step by Step :
1
Park the Mazda on a flat surface. Turn off the engine and put the transmission in park (for automatic transmissions).
2
Loosen the lug nuts on the rear wheels with a tire iron from the Mazda's wheel maintenance kit.
3
Place the jack under the frame in the back of the Protege and lift the rear tires off the ground. Place jack stands under the rear axles and lower the vehicle onto the stands.
4
Unscrew the lug nuts by hand and remove them. Take the rear wheels off.
5
Reach behind the right brake caliper to locate the caliper pins. You will not be able to see them. Place the 12mm socket onto the upper caliper pin once you have found it. Attach the ratchet and remove the upper caliper pin. Repeat the process or locating and removing the lower pin.
6
Lift the caliper from the caliper bridge and rotor and suspend it from the upper shock tower with a bungee cord or wire coat hanger.
7
Locate and remove the two caliper bridge bolts. Unscrew each of the two bolts with a 15mm socket and ratchet. Lift the bridge from the rotor and set it aside.
8
Spray chain lubricant on the area behind the rotor. Move to the Mazda's left wheel.
9
Remove the wheel. Locate and remove the caliper pins. Suspend the caliper to avoid stressing the attached brake line.

Step by Step :
10
Remove the caliper bridge bolts and take the bridge off. Spray chain lubricant on the area behind the rotor. Return to the right brake.

Step by Step :
11
Grab the rotor on either side and pull it straight from the Mazda's wheel hub. By now the lubricant should have loosened the bond of rust that might otherwise bind the rotor to the wheel hub. Tap the vertical surface of the rotor with a dead-blow hammer if it is still stuck. Tap around the wheel bolts on the section of the rotor known as the "top-hat section."

Step by Step :
12
Clean the area from where the rotor was removed with a wire brush.

Step by Step :
13
Clean the new brake rotor with brake parts cleaner and a cloth towel to remove the shipping and storage oil that protects it.

Step by Step :
14
Place the new rotor onto the wheel bolts with the top-hat section facing outward (toward you).

Step by Step :
15
Repeat the process for removing and replacing the rotor on the Mazda's left side.

Step by Step :
16
Replace the caliper bridge on each rotor and screw in the bridge bolts. Tighten them with the 15mm socket and ratchet.

Step by Step :
17
Slide the new brake pads into the slots of the caliper bridge.

Step by Step :
18
Squeeze the caliper pistons into the side of the caliper with a C-clamp or locking pliers. The pistons are metal cylinders that protrude from the inside of the caliper. They extend from the caliper to force the brake pads against the rotors when the brake pedal is depressed. Remove the clamp or pliers once the pistons are completely recessed into the caliper.

Step by Step :
19
Place each caliper over the new brake pads and caliper bridge. Screw in the caliper pins and tighten them with the 12mm socket and ratchet.
20
Replace the rear wheels onto the wheel bolts and screw on the lug nuts. Lift the back of the Protege with the jack and remove the jack stands. Lower the rear tires to the ground and tighten the rear wheels' lugs with the tire iron.
Tips & Warnings
Pump the brake pedal three times slowly to reset the caliper pistons before driving the Mazda.

Peugeot . How to Install Rear Brakes on a Dodge

Replacing the rear brakes on a Dodge vehicle requires replacement of the brake pads and the rear brake rotors. Chrysler recommends regular maintenance of your vehicle's brakes so that you can spot damage and wear before it leads to brake failure. The rear brakes endure less stress from braking than the front brakes, but are critical in maintaining control of the vehicle during braking. First timers should be able to install the Dodge's rear brakes in under one hour.
Difficulty:Moderate
Instructions Things You'll Need
Tire blocks
Lug wrench
Jack
Jack stand
13mm socket
Ratchet
Bungee cord
15mm wrench
Wire brush
Brake-parts cleaner
Rotors
Cloth towel
C-clamp
Brake grease

Step by Step :
1
Park the Dodge on a relatively flat surface. Turn off the engine. Place tire blocks in front of the front tires to prevent the vehicle from rolling forward.
2
Loosen the lug nuts on the rear wheels with a lug wrench.
3
Place the jack beneath the frame at the rear of the vehicle and lift the back tires at least 2-inches off the ground.
4
Place jack stands under the rear axles for support.
5
Remove the lug nuts and take the rear wheels/tires off.
6
Remove the caliper slide bolts from the back side of the calipers (the side of the caliper facing inward toward the vehicle) with a 13mm socket and ratchet.
7
Lift the caliper away from the rear rotors and suspend it above the rear brake assembly with a bungee cord. Do not let the caliper hang by the brake line.
8
Slide the worn brake pads from the caliper bracket.
9
Remove the two caliper brackets with a 15mm wrench. Lift the caliper bracket from the rotor and set it aside.

Step by Step :
10
Grab the rear brake rotor on both sides and pull it straight away from the vehicle's wheel-well.

Step by Step :
11
Clean the back of the wheel hub with brake-parts cleaner and a wire brush.

Step by Step :
12
Spray the new brake rotor with brake cleaner and wipe the excess cleaner and packing oil away from the disc with a clean cloth towel.

Step by Step :
13
Place the new rotor onto the wheel bolts and push it all the way onto the wheel hub.

Step by Step :
14
Replace the caliper bracket and screw in the bracket's bolts with the 15mm wrench.

Step by Step :
15
Apply brake grease to the back sides of the new brake pads. Slide the pads into the slots of the caliper bracket.

Step by Step :
16
Place a C-clamp over the rear caliper and the piston that extends from the inside of the caliper. Squeeze the piston into the side of the caliper. Remove the clamp once the piston is fully recessed within the caliper.

Step by Step :
17
Place the caliper over the new brake pads and caliper bracket. Screw in the caliper slide bolts with the 13mm socket and ratchet.

Step by Step :
18
Repeat the process to install the brakes on the opposite side of the Dodge.

Step by Step :
19
Return the rear wheels to the wheel bolts. Screw on the lug nuts by hand.
20
Lift the back of the Dodge with the jack and remove the jack stands.
21
Lower the rear-end of the vehicle and tighten the lug nuts with the lug wrench.
22
Start the vehicle and pump the brake pedal until the pedal response returns to normal (meaning the rear brake caliper pistons have been properly reset).

1. Find your hood release and pop open the hood. Either consult your owner's manual, or try to remember the last time a service station attendant opened the hood of your car. Did he or she ask you to pull a lever inside the vehicle? Or did he or she go directly to the front grill? If the hood release is at the front of the car, look around and through the grill and feel under the grill and behind the bumper to find a handle, lever, arm, or button. Then pull, press, or push front to back and side to side on the thing you find until it releases the hood. If the hood release is inside the car, press, push, or pull it until you hear the hood pop open. The hood will open a little, but it will probably be stopped by the safety catch: a metal lever that, when pressed one way or the other, releases the hood so that it can open all the way. 2. With one hand, raise the hood as far as it will go. With the other hand, feel along the area between the hood and the grill for the safety catch. Release it and then raise the hood the rest of the way. 3. Secure the hood if necessary. 114 Car Insurance hyundai sonata 2003 sedan4d 94497

If the hood stays up all by itself, fine. If it doesn't, look for a safety rod that's attached either to the underside of the hood or to the bottom edge of the hood opening. Either lift or lower the rod (depending on where it's located) and fit the end of it into the slot that's provided to hold it in place. On some vehicles, the hood is held up by two gas-pressurized cylinders known as hood shocks. If the gas has leaked out of these units, be careful because the hood could come down at any moment. If that's the case, replace these units or secure the hood with a broom handle or similar object." The Safe Way to Use a Jack The most obvious reason to jack up a car is to change a tire, but other jobs, such as inspecting brakes, may also require you to get under the vehicle. (Even if you're reed-thin enough to squeeze yourself between the pavement and the underside of your car, you still need room to move around and manipulate tools.) Chapter 2 has detailed information about the different types of jacks, as well as items such as jack stands (essential) and creepers (nonessential, but nice). This section explains how to use a jack safely and efficiently. The next section shows you how to change a tire after the vehicle is in the air. Chapter 1: Things Every Driver Should Know 1 7 Jacks are used only to get a vehicle off the ground. They should never be used to hold a vehicle in place. Even if you're simply changing a tire, you need to make sure that you've blocked the other wheels so that the car doesn't roll off the jack. You must use jack stands when you work underneath your car; if you don't, you run the risk of serious injury or even death. People have been crushed to death when vehicles that were improperly secured fell on them. Before you attempt to jack up your vehicle, observe the following safety precautions: Never change a tire on a freeway or highway. Not only can you be seriously injured, but you can also fall prey to carjackers. Don't exit the car

on the side nearest traffic; use a cellular phone to call road service or the AAA. If you have no cellular phone and a public phone isn't near enough to make a call and get right back into your car, hang a white rag or a white piece of paper out of the driver's side window and wait for the highway patrol to rescue you. Always park a vehicle on level ground before you jack it up. If you get a flat tire on a hill and can't coast to the bottom without killing the tire completely, then park close to the curb, turn the wheels toward the curb, and block the downside wheels securely to prevent the car from

rolling. Even after taking these precautions, however, I'd be nervous. Never jack up a vehicle without blocking the wheels. Even if the car is on level ground, use bricks, wooden wedges, or metal wheel chocks to block the wheels at the opposite end of the car from the end that is to be raised. Doing so keeps the vehicle from rolling after it has been jacked up. Keep the blocks in the trunk of your car so that you won't have to go hunting around if you have to change a tire when you're away from home.

Peugeot . Dose the brain only work for that car?

*
If you find yourself faced with the job of changing a tire and you have nothing with which to block the wheels, park near the curb with the wheels turned in. This may not keep you from getting hurt if the car rolls off the jack, but at least innocent motorists and pedestrians won't have to deal with a runaway driverless car! Be sure that your gearshift is hi Park (or in First if you have a manual transmission) and that the emergency brake is on before you jack it up.
